Climatology is one of the main human sciences. CLIMATIC elements are one of the most essential structures of the earth, and no doubt nature, humans, and all natural forms of life are affected by CLIMATIC conditions. Azerbaijan Province has located on North West Iran with an area of 120,000 Km2, and enjoys a variety of CLIMATIC conditions. In this research we have studied different CLIMATIC elements (32 elements) and zoned the CLIMATIC ATLAS of the area with over 150 CLIMATIC maps and the applications of GIS software. Results indicate that factors such as topography and the trend of relief have tremendous effects on the variation of CLIMATIC elements such as temperature, precipitation, and relative humidity. There is a negative correlation between height and temperature. The presence of Caspian Sea on the east and Urmia Lake on the western parts of this area affect the precipitation, but increases the relative humidity of the region.

The goal of this survey is to prepare the dry land wheat ATLAS for Zanjan province, according to the climate data. So we can recognize which areas are susceptible and to understand climate capabilities and limitations for dry land wheat. For reaching this purpose first raining and temperature datas of the research region were gathered and analyzed. At the first stage, proper according to the first rain after Mehr which should have continued for 1 or 2 days and rained 5mm or more planting date was defined. Then the different levels of dry planting wheat’s growth were calculated by the GDD method. At the next stage the annual, autumn, spring and Khordad's rainfall were reviewed and the average was calculated. The probability of germination temperatures, maximum temperature 25 and 30 degrees centigrade in the flowering stage and grain filling stage was also calculated. The calculated quantities in the GIS system were converted into different arenas and by using the overlap method all layers were first given a weighing value and were incorporated afterwards. Finally Zanjan Provinces Dry Land Wheat ATLAS area with 4zones: very good, good, average and poor was prepared. As you can see in the map the most suitable regions for dry land wheat are in the center and north of Khodabandeh and east of Ijrood and of coarse the other parts of Zanjan province are suitable. At the end the product producing scale is calculated and according to the neighbor provinces turnover scale which have the same weather and a higher turnover, the medium turnover and producing scale for Zanjan was calculated which showed a 30% increase from the real production rate.

In order to provide climatology ATLAS of frosts statistical properties of Iran and to attain spatial and temporal pattern of it, daily data of minimum temperature of 62 synoptic weather stations for a 15 year-period (1991-2007) from October to May, were adopted from Iran Meteorological Organization. By choosing may 1st as basis day, five statistical properties and their spatial and temporal distribution were extracted and plotted: mean beginning day of frost, mean ending day of frost, average frequency of frost days, average period of frost season and average period of growth season. Spatial configuration of these factors is such that from South to center of Iran which high altitudes are fewer, has regular Western-Eastern configurations, but from center of Iran toward North which high altitudes play more sensible role, this configuration is disturbed and more dependent to altitudes. Therefore, by performing cluster analysis on five statistical properties of frost of Iran, it was observed that we can divide Iran to 6 distinct clusters. These clusters are entitled from A to F. Spatial configuration of these, like five statistical properties, are functions of latitude and altitude. Region of A is southernmost region of Iran, have no frost; and region F, that is located in northwest of Iran, have earliest, latest, longest periods of frost and shortest period of growth season. Thus, configuration of statistical properties of frost at Iran is function of geo-Climate factors and of synoptic systems which were penetrated country.

ATLAS of ethnobotany in Iran has been one of the enacted projects of Ecological Anthropology department in Anthropology Research center of Iran Cultural Heritage, Handi Crafts and Tourism Organization Since 2005, which is carried out considering it's 5 years duration. This is on important subject, since indigenous knowledge concerning the use of herbal medicine by indigenous people and healers was considered as an non-material cultural heritage of Iran, a knowledge that is endangered now. In this project, with an anthropological view, we worked on this subject in all over Iran using monographical data. Since this is an interdisciplinary subject some anthropologists, botanists, physicians and pharmacists helped us to achieve the required standardi We have considred 90 species belonging to 68 genera and 37 falily for indigenous healing as part of herbal prototype that we have collected in our archives.

Linguistic ATLAS consists of a series of maps locating language diversities in a geographical area. It is significant because it maintains the needs of dialectology, language planning and sociolinguistics. Due to the fact that there is no such an ATLAS for Gilan Province, the writers of this article have done their best to design one, based on 100 words; meanwhile, following the findings of this ATLAS, they try to answer two questions: what phonological processes can be seen in Gilan and Gilaki dialect? How do the central towns of Gilan differ from its other towns regarding the occurrence of phonological processes? It should be pointed out that another advantage of such an ATLAS is the possibility of depicting the boundary lines among Gilaki, Taleshi, and Turkish in Gilan Province.After selecting 100 words and interviewing with the Gilaki speakers and recording their voices, the researchers designed a map for each word to show its phonological and lexical diversities. According to the findings of research, 16 phonological processes take place in Gilaki dialect, of which the most frequent are respectively centralization, rising, deletion and affrication. It was also found that in non-central towns especially Roodsar, the phonological processes are more frequent.
